Can't hear anything in Zoom?
Check your device volume — make sure it's not muted.
Inside Zoom, check the audio icon in the bottom left corner. If it shows a red X, click it to connect your audio.
Click the arrow next to the microphone icon → Audio Settings → make sure the correct speaker is selected.
Try leaving and rejoining the Zoom session.
Your microphone or camera isn't working in Zoom?
Zoom needs permission to access your microphone and camera. If you haven't granted this yet:
Mac: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera / Microphone → enable for Zoom.
Windows: Settings → Privacy → Camera / Microphone → allow Zoom.
iPhone/iPad: Settings → Zoom → enable Camera and Microphone.
After granting permission, close and reopen Zoom.
How to adjust your audio and video during class
To mute/unmute yourself: click or tap the Microphone icon in the Zoom control bar at the bottom of the screen.
To turn your camera on/off: click or tap the Camera icon in the control bar.
To change your speaker, microphone, or camera: click the arrow (^) next to the microphone or camera icon → select your preferred device.
Video is lagging or freezing?
Check your internet connection — a weak signal is the most common cause.
Close other browser tabs or apps using bandwidth.
Move closer to your wifi router if possible.
In Zoom, go to Settings → Video → turn off HD video to reduce bandwidth usage.
Completely unable to join?
Close Zoom completely and reopen it.
Try a different device.
Make sure your Zoom app is up to date.
If the class has already ended by the time you resolve the issue, the replay will be posted within 24 hours.
